I've noticed that you are a member of your PIR group but haven't asked any questions there. Have you forgotten about it? That group is wonderful for info and support. I know this site can be challenging to navigate. Here is the link to the group....click on the http address http://www.navyformoms.com/group/pir11122010

In answer to your questions...They get the weekend off for graduation. After PIR on Friday till about 8pm, and Sat and Sun from about 7 or 8 am till 8 or 9 pm. Is your rct Grad and Go? What is his division. Have you joined the group for his A school? There are a couple for Great Lakes I think. They can not take anything back to their ship after graduation BUT since his A school is at GL you may be abel to rent him a locker for his cell, laptop, some civvies (underwear esp) etc. If you're interested in some info about the locker rental let me know.

If your rct is G&G to GL then there is a chance he will get overnights....so ask him in your next letter. Also, do you know when Battlestations is? You should get your "I'm a Sailor" call the afternoon after BS starts.
In my son's last letter he told me that the A school he was told he would be going to in GL is now unavailable and he will have to be in holding status if he wants to wait for it. This is pretty upsetting and frustrating because I thought that was why he waited all those months to leave for BC. Nothing makes any sense to me at this point. I guess we will just have to wait and see.
I'm not real sure why they changed his, but he would rather have gone to school in San Diego!
Are we allowed to take anything to the graduation like a banner or ballons or anything?
That is a good question! Wish I could answer it, but to tell you the truth I have no idea!! sorry
