OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

You will see all kinds of dress at the graduation............dressy, jeans.......... I myself wore slacks and a top, and remember even though it is inside, it is very cold in there........... I just took along a sweater, course I was there in May.

My son is graduating on 31August. My husband is also active duty. Should he wear his uniform as well or should this weekend be all about the graduates??

Hi! My daughter just graduated this last weekend. My husband and I heard a rumor that it might be required for active duty to wear uniforms. At any rate, I think its a very good idea. We saw other dads that were active military that wore their uniform to the ceremony. We (parents and sailors) were trying to get to know one another. Anything to help this along is good. Besides, your son will have an easier time spotting you. Once inside, you will be directed to sit in front of where your son will stand during the graduation. Each section is marked. Your son will have a general idea of where to look for you. Then to know that you will be in uniform, will make it that much easier to locate you in the group.

Yes, you see everything at the graduation. I would wear either a tasteful summer dress with sweater (just in case) or dressy casual. You might wish to consider that the sailors will probably be able to leave with you just after the ceremony. For us, this was around 10:30 a.m.
After the graduation, we went to the Wildberry in Libertyville. It was very good. As you come out of the base entrance just continue on down Buckley Rd. about 5 1/2 miles. You will see it on the corner of Buckley Rd. and Milwaukee Ave. Go on line to find more info. including the menu. There is also a coupon that you can get on line. We were there by 11:00. They have sandwiches, soups, etc. We opted for their skillets, pancakes, and other breakfast items because we had not had alot of breakfast that morning. (You will want to be in the hall for grad. by 7:00 to get a good seat, and it takes awhile to get through the line at the base entrance.) It was not very expensive for the amount of food that we got. There were 4 of us and we ate for $42.00 + tax and tip.
Let me say that there are plenty of other darling restaurants down Milwaukee Ave. in Libertyville. Definately a great place to go for a good meal.
