Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Diane, All graduations are held inside no matter the time of year, though it is still alittle chilly inside.

Not as far as i know,, i think they are all in the drill hall...however you will have to park and walk to the drill hall or either be let out by the taxi at the main gate and walk to the drill hall so i would prepare for a cool day especially compared to what you are used to in Texas...and also when you go into the city of Chicago to sight see ( which i highly recommend) you will need something warm it is very windy...or was when we were there...but there are several must see, especially if your sailor wants to go.... we took the train to Chicago and was very nice ride...went to the Sears Tower, Navy Pier and took the trolley around town for seeing the sights. I suggest taking taxi to get around its so much less stress.... we were at PIR in June and the drill hall was cool then so imagine it will be in February....not Eskimo cold but cool....lol

i heard it is a bit of a walk from parking to the actual ceremony so we will be out in the elements some, im from florida girl so i understand! dont worry we will make it haha
