Just a question, hoping someone out there would be able to help.  My son sent his tickets to his dad and family.....leaving myself and my husband off the list. (payback for grounding him shortly before he left)  What I am wondering, do they ever allow extra guests into the ceremony, and if not, are we still guaranteed to see him after the ceremony, if we just hang around???  Thanks!!!  Just need to plan before making a 12 hour trip!

Well, she doesn't really need to park inside the base. She can take a shuttle or park in the train station across the street for $2. The password is only if you want to drive onto the base. Otherwise it just takes your ID.

Yes, they do allow extra guests. He can have you added to someone else's in his division if they're not using all of theirs, or, once people have checked in, they will allow others in if they're not full.

However, is this payback meant for you to struggle for tickets, or does he not want you there? I'd suggest writing him and letting him know you'll need to be added to someone else's list and see if he's willing to help. My guess is, the longer he gets into Boot Camp, the more likely he'll be thrilled to have you there.

Thanks to you both for the help!! Very appreciated!

The only way you can get in (as an extra guest) is that you check in with a guest who is on the list.  It is a safety issue, they don't just let random people in to PIR...they don't know who you are, you could be there with a b@#$ or something.

So sorry to say, you need to go with the ex and his familiy and check in.  Otherwise you can wait at the hotel (they won't let random people wait anywhere on the base ((safety issues here)) and maybe see him when he gets liberty.

YOU need to write your recruit, and talk to your ex if you want to go to PIR.

SAFETY, SAFETY!  is the number one concern....

Angie, I don't remember it that way. The guards at the gate didn't check us off a list to get on base. They did though when we got to the bldg. Those not on the list were held back for seats, but eventually let in. My memory could be fading though.

At the gate they did ask to see some ID, but I don't remember a checklist.
