If you know your recruit's PIR date, go to http://www.navyformoms.com/forum/topics/groups-listed-by-pir-date and join the group for that. If you don't know the PIR date, join the group, DEP-Leavin for bootcamp in April, to connect with others with loved ones who left the same day and may have PIR together. I also invite you to join Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) there. Arrival and What Happens at the RTC will let you know what is happening.

What is PIR? I saw some groups with same ship and div as my son. They said they would be together all the way through A school.

PIR is another way of saying graduate from Navy Boot Camp. The Page, What does ??? mean? (A Guide to Navy Abbreviations and Terminology), will help you with many of the new terms you will come across.

No, the recruits in each division have contracts for several ratings (jobs/occupational specialties), so only a small number in each division will be in "A" School together, except for those in 800 divisions and then many will be together. See Ship/Division--How it Works.

That is quite a lot of abbreviations!

That list only scratches the surface. The Navy has its own language: My CTR1(SW/IDW) is LPO in the SSES of a DDG.
