DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

Having a hard day. He's been gone for 11 days now and no letter saying how to write to him. I don't want him to think I'm not writing or sending him letters or even thinking about him because I am!  Very sad. Also, read on the "letter writing" section that some people were glad they did not encounter their birthday during bootcamp. My son's birthday is in two weeks and this kind of concerned me. Any experiences anyone can share regarding this?

It was about 14 days after my son went in that his Girlfriend received the letter with his address, and all the other info.  Which upset me but it is what it is. He went in on 11-12-13 to BC and graduated 1-10-14 I talked to him on the phone for 2 minutes about 3 weeks into it, which he sounded very down and depressed I truly wasn't sure he was going to make it, I then didn't talk to him till Christmas and we talked for 30 min. He sounded so good and positive, I then never received the phone call saying Im a Sailor which means he is graduating his GF did. But we went to his grad. It was amazing and he had changed so much. Then he stayed there for A school was supposed to start right away but didn't until 5 weeks later and then was in A school for 5 weeks, he got a 21 day leave spent 2 weeks with his GF on Ok.  and a week with us in Fl.He flew to Hawaii and then to Osaka Japan and is now on a ship somewhere and we cant talk to him due to not having any internet. Your son will write you and call you. I promise you that. Good Luck By the way my son loves the Navy!!

Thanks for sharing.
