My son is in division 057 ship 09.  We haven't received our official graduation notice.  Has anyone else?

What "official notice" are you referring to? The only "notice" is the form letter, which your recruit should have sent you within a week or so of arrival at the RTC. If you didn't receive that, then you will need to write to your SR ASAP if you plan to drive onto the RTC so that you can get the password to get the vehicle/gate pass. There is info in Letter Writing & Fun Stuff/Questionnaires to send to your Recruit on how to get the info for The Form Letter. Other than that, the other "official notice" will be the "I'm a Sailor!" call next week.

Join the group, PIR 01/10/2014 TG 09 - 11 Divisions (051-60 and 909), to connect with others with loved ones training with your SR.  Divisions 057 and 058 are brother divisions and train together and will have Battle Stations-21 together, so look for others with loved ones in either division.  There is a discussion within that group for the two divisions.

Thank you for the information.  My son's recruiter told me not to book flights for PIR until I get another letter from Navy for PIR.  He stated the date can change.  It sounds like recruiter must have been wrong.  This has been quite the challenge to get correct information.  Thank you for your help.

NO, book the flight!!!!! The Navy doesn't send letters, only your SR. It is sad that you have been given that info since the cost has probably gone up. The only way the date will change is if your SR fails something. Has he indicated that he is having problems?

BTW, you ought to tell the recruiter to quit telling people to wait on a second letter.

Check your My Page.

We only received one letter for graduation, two phone calls.  My son graduates this Friday.  We were hoping to get one more phone call, but my son wasn't sure that would happen.  We got to spend Christmas day with him, it really helped to see him.  He hadn't received his orders yet, but he thought they had one more phone call. He didn't know much about the details of graduation. We were hoping to get verification of graduation, I dont think it will happen.  He was doing well and loves it, positive he will do well these last couple days.  He stays there for school, but my understanding is that he will not be able to spend the night with him.  We will have to sign him in and out each day.  I was told that kids that go to other schools, fly out the next morning (not sure on that).  I will let you know when we come home this weekend. It is hard not knowing what to expect.  It does go really quickly.

Join the group, PIR 01/03/2014 TG 08 - 10 Divisions (043-050, 907 and 908), to connect with others with loved ones training with your SR. I also invite you to join Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) there.
