Hello all,

I am not a mom i am a fiance'.

My Fiance is going through a bit of a hard time. He is still in A school but is quickly finding out how crooked the navy can be. He started school on time but couldnt go to class because he hurt his ankle REALLY REALLY bad but now that it is healed they made hi start school over after he only had a week til graduation. But anyway, for the past 3 weeks he has been talking about getting out the navy. (them talking about discharging him do to depression isnt helping) I encourage him everyday to stay in and just make it past school because i know he hates going to class (which is why he didnt stay in college) even though he always has the highest grades.

Can you please give me some advice on how to keep encouraging him. i know he will love it after school and i join him (in two years after i graduate)

The USN isn't for everyone, people are dischaged for depression all the time.

Please explain how the USN is crooked?

In todays Navy, if he wants out all he needs to do is ask.  The Navy is completely overmanned right now because our economy sucks.  Everyone is staying in the Navy because it offers so much.  What he needs to do if figure out how much he needs to make on the outside to compare to what he makes in the Navy.  Make sure he compares all benefits.

Per the school, why complain about going to school?  Geez, I would rather be in school than some ship.  Beleive me, the grass isn't greener.  Per the Navy being crooked, to me he's being crooked by not fulfilling his military contract.  Being a quitter is not the way to begin life.  What employer would want to hire a guy that just gave up?  Not many....

He really needs to watch out about the command thinking he has depression.  They can easily discharge him which is not what he needs until he can figure out if he can actually make it on the outside.

I posted about this before about running the numbers $$$$, go to this link and ask him these questions.   http://www.navyformoms.com/forum/topics/where-do-you-find-the-strength
