OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

HELP! MARRIAGE LICENSE PROBLEMS!!!
Hey N4M....I have a big problem. ANY AND ALL advice is needed and welcomed!
FACTS:
My fiance is stationed in Pensacola, FL for A-School
We are trying to get a chit to come home the last weekend in July to get married
He IS classed up
The county clerks office is only open on the weekends from 8am-4pm
QUESTIONS:
What are possiblities of him being able to "skip" class on friday and come home in time to get to the clerks office by 4?
Is there any other way to get a marriage license without him being there?
Has anyone been in this situation before? I need help....

SERIOUSLY doubt they will let him leave A school at any time - they are only allowed to go so far from base during A school. What about when he finishes school?

I assume he's requested leave to make the trip from the chit remark. If he has that approved already, he can ask if the dates can be changed to include an extra day. His school might approve that, but only his COC at school can answer that question. Very iffy.
You cannot get a marriage license without both parties present. That's to avoid identity theft and fraudulent marriages. Have you spoken to the county clerk? They might make an exception for a member of the military.

I have spoken to several county clerks in my area and NON are willing to make "special arrangments" for military personell...Which I find odd because most other places do. He hasn't turned in his chit yet, he is in the process of filling it out. We are both under the impression that he will be aloud to come home even though it is out of the boundries, he had to get a special chit for out of boundries...I don't know if he has talked to his COC about any of this. Or how far he has gotten through it...As far as I am concerned the only person he has been talking to his a yoeman...I hope that he is providing Jake with all of the correct and accurate information, as I dont know the details of a yoemans job. Anyways, cross your fingers that we are able to work this whole mess out! :)

His COC would have to approve the chit, the yeoman does the resulting paperwork. I know, details get fuzzy third hand!
It is hard to tell what a school might approve or not!
Yes, fingers crossed.
Plan B... drive like bats out of hell for Vegas. 24 hour licensing and immediate marriages. Sometimes you must choose between a wedding and a marriage.

The only thing is that everything was planned. Our venue, my dress...I bought my dress, booked venues, food...of course we didnt pay for anything yet besides my dress and decorations because we are going to need that stuff eventually...but anyways.. We talked about tahoe if it doesnt work.

Oh, I understand, but the wedding might have to wait until after the marriage. You might not like it, but it might end up being the reality. The Navy kinda does that to people, I got married in Vegas because that's where we happened to be!
Tahoe? Do they do 24 hour? I know Reno has really late hours (midnight on Friday!) and is even open on Sunday. Washoe County. I'm in Reno once a year as part of my summer vacation.

angie...i meant could they approve that. BUT
Thanks to everyone for advice, I found a clerks office that allows the offciant or minister to stand in as a proxy for Jake so he doesnt have to be there. :)

OK Anti M....now there has been some misinformation passed to me! WE CAN'T get the marriage license without him being there...NO EXCEPTIONS. Apparently they changed the law. So frustrating.. We are now back to square one. Which leaves us with 3 options
1. Get married in Tahoe, give up having special family members there because they are on a bugdet.
2. Go to flordia, make it legal, but have NO family there on our wedding day
3. Wait till he is done with a-school and cross our fingers that he doesnt get stationed overseas and I can still move with him to his first duty station...
ADVICE?

I second Hoppi, go to Florida. Share with your family via phone and skype. Not having your family there is harder for some couples than for others, but it surely is more important to get that marriage on record than to have a "special" day. You can do a lovely ceremony which includes everyone when he can take his leave after A school. No rush then, and everyone can relax. The beautiful dress will keep.
Don't count on the crossed fingers concerning orders, I have spoken to several young ladies (and a mom of a sailor with a fiance) who waited until after A school. Their new husbands are now going to Japan for two or three years without them. Which is worse? An upset family or being a "geographical widow"?

OK, so I was looking around for information on getting married. So he CAN get married during A school? Because we want to make it official asap like you said, so we wouldn't have to be apart for that long. But I also read on here somewhere that he can't get married during A school. So I'm confused.
To clear things up, he's still in boot camp, staying in GL for a month, then going to Panama City for dive school.
