For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

After doing a bit of research, that rumor has been around for at least 2 years, but like everything in the Navy, it all depends on the needs of the Navy. There have been times when everyone or nearly everyone in an A School class went FMF and times when they haven't. There are LOTS of groups for HM. HM (Hospital Corpsman) A School in San Antonio, Sailors in A School for Corpsmen, Corpsmens Mom, HM Mom, Corpsman Moms, Corpsmen Moms and Dads, and Hostipal Corpsman <girlfriends-wives-moms> are the ones I know about--added in no particular order. You could check those out and join the one/s that fit your needs.

Thank you do much. My son is HM and going to San Antonio for A school and in one of his letters he said he was told that all HM were going FMF. Do then go uo another school as well for FMF?

As I understand it, they go to Field Medical Training Battalion, FMTB, at Camp Pendleton. This will give them the necessary training to go Fleet Marine Force, FMF, but it does not guarantee that they will go FMF.
A current HM3, who is a friend of my Sailor, says: They go to A School then FMF training and then can get deployed with Marines.

My daughter(class 190 in san antonio) called a week or two ago and said all unmarried HM were told their orders were changing to FMF. Then she later said she checked her orders and they hadn't changed to FMF. PLUS the a-school graduation date keeps changing. I'm really trying to find out when she's graduating FOR REAL. I think she may be trying to trick me, so she can surprise me with a visit....but right now the story is she graduates Oct7...leaves for 1st duty Oct8, with no chance to visit home. Is anyone else experiencing this massive confusion??
