Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

. The ombudsman can give you arrival estimated time. Ships pull in at high tide. It will be a long day. they don't just zoom into the pier and all leave the ship. Wear comfortable shoes because you will be in a working area. The FRG(family readiness group) usually has activities to do while you are waiting. This is a large group returning so I would be there early like a couple hours before pull in time. I know when my son has come in with an 11 am pull in we are there at 9 in the morning. Traffic will be heavy be sure to have your ID handy at the gate. recommend you take a folding chair like those that fold into their own bag and you can carry easily. There should be a lot of things going on band, food games for kids etc....Take a deep breath and enjoy it nothing beats a homecoming.

This my first homecoming as well... my sister is also on the Truman and me and my father will be attending. My question is, how long does it take for her to get "released" to start her leave? We have already booked flights and I am concerned about us making our flight that evening.
If the ship pulls in, in the morning - would we be able to make a 6:30PM flight out on the same day?
