Currently booked at the Ramada, but it seems so many are staying at the Residence Inn. Will have to check into it a bit more.... might be a better deal.
I too am staying at the Marriott Residence Inn. I originally had reservations at the Ramada beacause of the M&G, but after my sons PIR date changed, I had to cancel my reservations. In the meantime I have read a lot of negative feedback on the Ramada, so I personally decided when it came time to reschedule our hotel reservations that I was not going to stay there and we decided on the Residence Inn. We are also bringing our dog. It is only $100.00 extra to bring him. It would cost a lot more to kennel him. I also like the idea of a full kitchen (don't have to eat every meal out), which will save money too. They also have a full free breakfast buffet daily (not a continental breakfast) that is included with your stay. And they also have a free dinner social M-Thu. They also have a picnic/bbq area that is avail for their guests to use. We are driving from NJ, and reserved a 2 bdrm suite, there are six of us staying in the rm. The rm is $139.00 per night with AAA. They didn't have anymore Navy grad. discount rms avail. So I don't know if i'm getting a good deal or not with the AAA? Maybe we could think of having a M&G at the Residence Inn since so many seem to be staying there? Just a thought.
We are coming on Thursday leaving on Monday from Southern California. Staying at the Residence Inn in Waukegan. Me, my husband, his sister and our Daughter in Law. I don't think we will go to the M&G at the Ramada, but I would like to meet you all somewhere else if that comes up.
Are you leaving out of LAX? We are in Bakersfield and I'm trying to decide if it would be better to leave out of LAX or Burbank.
also staying at the Residence Inn. we will be arriving late on the 7th and staying until sunday.
We have changed hotels - will not be staying at the Residence Inn.
I got our reservations at the Navy Lodge. There is no shuttle to PIR, or breakfast in the AM, but those were the only real perks I saw at other hotels. For us, this seemed perfect. you can have up to five people in your room. The room rates seemed all the same. We have a room with two queen sized beds AND a kitchen. I prefer that so I can cook some of the food Andrew is missing. It is $65 a night, NO tax. I booked it for three nights, $195
Vicki~That's a great price. Maybe I will call them, I'll have to weigh out what the pros & cons are. Right now breakfast is included, but breakfast is not an expensive meal, and with a kitchen I can easily bring food for breakfast anyway. I do have the shuttle service at the Residence Inn, but don't neccessarily need it, because we will have our car, (we are driving). The only other difference is I have two queen beds and a queen sleeper sofa at the Residence Inn (sleeps six, not five). I'm pretty certain I need room for six, unless my daughter can't get off from work, which I don't know yet. My sons recruiter suggested the Navy Lodge, he said he thought it was cheaper than the Residence Inn and just as nice. But I am also able to bring my dog to the Residence Inn for a one time fee of $100.00. That saves a lot off the kennel costs. Thanks for the info.
We switched to the Residence Inn because there will be six of us (two children) and the rooms have 2 bathrooms, kitchen has dishes, pots and pans, etc. and over 800 sq. feet. Cost was less than 2 rooms at another hotel and we won't be crowded. Plus breakfast and shuttle if we want. I understand that Walmart is across the street so shopping for food will be easy.
Well I am not switching. The Residence Inn just works out better for all of our needs all the way around. We will be staying at the Residence Inn. FINAL~ LOL, I'm done researching and comparing. Keeping my reservations there.
I made an error in my last post. We are staying at the Residence Inn too.
I like the t-shirt idea!
