While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

We also lived in an apartment onbase but that was back in the day when my husband and I were stationed in Japan. We had no choice, unless we wanted to live offbase and live off the expensive japanese economy and japanese homes are tiny, lol.. I also lived in Hawaii and stayed in military housing for a bit but decided that living offbase would benefit my family more because we bought a new home and monthly mortgage was much lower than my husband's BAH and it was close to the base, so it worked out perfectly. As for Lemoore, if you decide to live out in town, please make sure your rent and utilities match or is less than your husband's BAH. I would hate to see you guys have a hard time than to be relaxing onbase. =).

The housing in Lemoore is VERY nice and the oldest stuff is maybe 12 yrs old at the most. It is also pretty large compared to many of the housing areas I have been in. They also have two new large community centers with pools, game rooms and computer areas. The larger of the two also has a little work out room and a large patio with bbq's for entertaining.

you got stationed in Hawaii? Pearl Harbor or Kaneohe Bay? I am originally from there! I just got here myself last May. We were on the waiting list, but we should be moving on base. The office assures me that we'll move in before novemeber. you currently living on base?

Wow you are still offbase and you got here in May? I got here right after Independence day and got onbase housing in less than a month. You need to follow up on your housing status before it becomes a longer wait.

They will not let you submit the application until he is seperated from his current command, but they back date it to that date. Yes, jobs are very tough to come by here. The unemployment rate in this area is one of the worst in the nation. However, with some work you can probably find something after a while. You will qualify for a house based on his pay grade and # of dependents. I.e. Just you and him, if he is an E6 or below, it will be a 2 bedroom. However, if they have a 3 bedroom available, they may give it to you.

Yes the backyards are fenced in and yes you are allowed to have a grill, you silly. lol...

Not only that, but the fenced in part is the only part that residents have to take care of. Lincoln Housing does all the other mowing and landscaping.

Hey Trace, how long is the waiting list as of now? When requested early this year, it was 4-6 months, but I've heard that if you have a family..the wait isn't that long. We rented an apt here in Visalia, its really nice. It's a gated community so its really safe. It is kinda pricy.... :/ but if you don't mind it...i highly recommend it. I love our place but living on base would be easier for my husband...in terms of commuting to work. Where are you transferring from btw? good luck with the move. :)

we haven't moved yet, we leased an apt here in Visalia. I called the office to let them know that our lease is up...and they said they will move us at the end of the month! how about you? u all settled in? you like the housing?

Hey Trace, sorry got back to u late, it's finals week so I had to get that out of the way.
anyway...about your move, no. you don't move your things yourself. Have your husband call personal properties and they will take care of everything...even the packing! :) he shouldn't call too late because if they don't have a truck avail. u might not get your things on time. About a month and a half mabybe? give them a call. They will work a schedule out for you.
About the waiting list, yeah you have to be here in order for you to be on the list, but you should fax all your papers so when you get here, all you have to do is check in. I don't think we received a packet, my husband did everything in regards to the move. When do you move here? I LOVE texas!!! didn't get stationed there, but we stop there on our way here from VA. anyway...good luck! -
