OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Not really tickets - your name is on a list. You show picture ID and they let you in.
The first letter he sent has a password in it to allow you to print out your pass to get on base.. Once on base, you will get your hand stamped. However, when we went to my son's PIR in April, somehow we were guided directly to the Hall where PIR is held. No one ever checked for hand stamps on us. The line to get in is long on that day, so leave really early! It is a wonderful traditional ceremony! While you are there, my son HIGHLY recommends a place called Egg Harbor for breakfast if you are eating out. There are several of them. Also, we ate at a place called Liberty in Libertyville just a short distance from the base. They were the most wonderful people and showed my son so much respect and special treatment!!!!! It made this mom quite proud!!!!pr
We took a shuttle from our hotel. We were escorted from the shuttle drop off (gate) to the first building where we waited in line for quite awhile. They checked that our names were on the list and checked IDs. Then we went and walked to the drill hall. So no, you don't get actual tickets. Your recruit has to put your name on the list.
