For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

I'm such a mess son left Feb 4th
Even though I knew since March 2013 that my son was leaving, when it came down to him leaving last week.... I feel like a piece of me is missing. I have cried so much. Today is better, I only cried when my son in law moved my sons car from where he parked it when he left for MEPS on Tuesday Feb 4th. Yesterday I heard a song that he used to blast and come out in his boxers dancing and acting a fool.... broke down in tears at a bridal shower. Every one says it gets easier, but I don't know how it does, I feel like part of my heart is separated from my body. The FedEx box should arrive soon but I doubt that I can even open it. I have not been in his room. I feel like I am being over emotional sometimes but I cant control it.

Join the group, DEP-Leavin' for Boot Camp in February to connect with others with loved ones who arrived the same day and may have PIR together. They are going through the same emotional roller coaster that you are.
I also invite you to join, or at least check out, Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and PIR Reference Information. Once you know your SR’s PIR date and/or division number, watch in Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and/or at http://www.navyformoms.com/forum/topics/groups-listed-by-pir-date and join the group for that once it has been created. There will be a lot of great information and support for you in those groups. Be sure to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) and Discussions within the groups. Arrival and What Happens at the RTC within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) will let you know what is happening, but you will also want to check out the other Pages in all of the groups.

I understand how you are feeling! My son left Feb 5 also! I have to focus on the positives for Brett. Brett tried two years of college and it was not his thing. He decided last August this was his next option, because around here there is nothing but to be a bum and get in trouble. So I told him to go get trained to do a job, see the world and let the government pay for it! Brett left his Bearded Dragon-Molly in our care so we have concentrated alot on her not getting depressed/missing him! I hope this helps! Melinda-Brett's Mom

Thank you so much. Matthew is 18 he graduated high school last year. He went to the recruiter and DEP in March 2013. I just left the recruiter and they don't have him in the system yet and no box home yet. I am going crazy. Today is better than yesterday. Our little Chihuahua is just lost without him :( Cheri

Have you received your box yet? I haven't just curious! I know they are probably still processing some, but I am not very patient. I pray alot for guidance, endurance and favor for Brett!

I'm with you same here :( but counting my Fridays help FYI it's been 2 1/2 weeks and room is the way he left it
