Hi guys, hope you could help me out with any ideas/experiences you might have.

I leave for basic in 2 weeks and I was hoping to get together a "survival kit" for my girlfriend of 5 years.  She is very clingy and won't handle being away, so I wanted to get some things together to make her feel a little less lonely.

Some ideas I had were index cards with things like "why I love you" and various memories, some oversized shirts that I've worn for pajamas (she likes shirts that smell like me) and some pictures.  I'd really appreciate anything you can think of that you might recommend or that might've made it easier on you.

Thanks in advance, and thanks for the support, without you guys, this would be a lot harder.

She can't take any of those things to Boot Camp whatever she has with her or is wearing comes back home other than a Bible/paper/Envelopes/Stamps/phone card. She won't be able to take any "Shirts" of yours. You can write letters after she's there. But as far as I know EVERYTHING comes back in a box. Good luck to you and her.
BR549!! haha - HE is going to boot camp and want to leave HER with some things! What an amazing guy!!

I say write her daily!! Start now and have someone mail them for you as soon as you leave. You won't get a chance to write for a few days.
Get her some sort of notebook to keep all these letters in!
HAHA I got that all balled up now didn't I- dang! Sorry Sorry Sorry - Please forgive me! lol
Leave her some voice mail to listen to again and again. You'll have to do that on the sly, she'll be clinging to the phone. Or get one of those teddy bears with a recordable message that they make for little kids.

Have her join the wives and GF group here. The ladies are very supportive.

Get a pillow made with your picture on it, most camera shops can do a rush job for you.
If you have a digital camera that records video, make a quick video of the two of you. My boyfriend (now husband) and I recorded a quick video of us talking and him telling me all the things I could do when I missed him at bootcamp. We make a new video everytime we reach a new milestone in our relationship (ie. got engaged) or when he hits a new milestone in his military career. It really helped. Also, when you leave behind a few shirts, put them in a large ziploc bag. The "smell" of you will last longer that way.
Thanks guys, keep them coming. I really like the idea of having pre-written letters and regular flower deliveries, I'll have a bouquet sent to her work!
