Just when I thought I was okay with my baby being so far away for who knows how long, I am having a real hard time today.  I miss having him with me SO much.  We have always been best friends, through good times and bad.  We could talk to each other about anything.  I miss that.  I would really like to be sitting with him on the back porch today.  Or reading together.  Or watching a silly movie.  And wishing I had let him drive my Mustang.  Or made that fried chicken and mashed potatoes he wanted so badly when I thought I was too tired after work.  I would do it today in a heartbeat.  But.  He's not here.  I miss him so much.

Don't think about wishing you were there - spend you thoughts on times that you were! He would not be craving that fried chicken and mashed potatoes if you had NEVER made them for him - so be thankful for the times that you did!
Spend time reading a favorite book or watch a movie and then writing him a letter (blog) about it.

Now, driving your Mustang. . . . that is a whole other matter!!!
Thank u sweetie. I needed that.
Dear Diane..you and your best friend need to have something to hang on to while he is gone. This may seem silly to you but: my son and I look at the moon. We both know that when one sees the moon the other is praying. It does not matter that we may see the moon at a different time. I smile just knowing that he is sending prayers for me to reach out and hang on to. And he will smile knowing I am sending prayers to him. (Fried chicken, mashed potatoes) It's funny how we remember the things that made one smile. At the time we don't realize the impact these moments will have on our lives. If one was to ask your son : What is one of your favorite meals?..
YOU CAN BET HE'LL SAY:
"My mom makes the worlds best fried chicken."
***God Bless you and your sailor******When you see him again*******Let him drive the Mustang!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Teddybear
Thank you so much. God Bless you too, and you can bet he'll dirve the Mustang! And look at the moon and eat fried chicken.
Wow! I totally can relate to what you wrote. Hang in there!

Awww... teddybear- I love the moon story!
Hi everyone... I am so glad your going to let him drive the mustang. I am sure it's a lot safer than what he is doing now. Although the car probably goes much much faster....I can remember after bootcamp my son asking for me to make egg salid.( I can not spell sorry about that. ) For his wedding shower gift I bought him a hard boiled egg maker. Never thought I would buy something like that! Now his wife calls and ask for the reciepts for all his favorite foods. It's so cute I love it. Hopefully after this deployment these guys and girls can have a whole feast of good home cook meals.. I can't wait. But then again I have to find a way to get to Hawaii from New York...Hay that's and idea, while he is gone you could make him a cook book of all his favorite foods. I don't know if he is married but what a gift when he does or just to have himself. Something from your heart. Made with lots of love....Be sure to put the Fried Chicken on the cover...LOL
******** God Bless Teddybear *********
