Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

International calling to Bahrain...
HI! I have a question about phones ... My boyfriend leaves in a few months for a year and we are trying to figure out if it would be better for him to just buy a phone in Bahrain to talk and text or if we could get the international plan on our phone lines so we can still at least get a discounted rate... His boys say that its just better to buy the phone when you get there, but I was looking up the countries on our phone carrier and Bahrain was included. Would It may be easier to just suspend his line while hes gone and open the international charges for me so I can at least text and call?... I hope this makes sense. Thank you!!

That was the first thing I did, however I know verizon know does have texting capability to bahrain... Not knowing when the group post was originated I wanted to see if anyone had any newer info they could share. Thank you tho

There have been many MA's in Bahrain, so you can also ask in MAA Moms or you can check in the comments on the Comment Wall and see who has had a Sailor there recently and ask them about it.

We set up a Google phone account. It allows us to type out messages on the computer and it sends them as a text.
We also have Verizon and it won't work in Bahrain so we put our son's phone on military hold. It is also possible to skype with the Google account

thank you! We have tmobile but ended up doing the same. He was able to text and get data but wasn't able to talk with out charge. We suspended the line, and he ended up getting a prepaid sim card there. We unlocked his phone so he can still use it :)
