FOLLOW THESE STEPS TO GET STARTED:
Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

I see you have joined the PIR group for 09/09/2011 - this is the most important group for you to join at this point. Here are some other tips on using this site. Right under the big Navy For Moms mast head are a bunch of tabs on a menu bar (Main, Invite, My Page, About Us, Members ... etc).
On a regular basis do the following:
1. Check MY PAGE tab on the menubar - this is your personal page. When you get to your personal page, look for new messages from other members. On the left you'll find the groups you belong too, photos of your friends, the blogs you've started, forum discussions you've started.
2. Check YOUR sign in / sign out box on upper right. This tells you if you have any friend requests, messages, alerts. Or you can access your settings.
3. Once you have joined some groups, you can access them quickly by clicking on GROUP tab on menubar, then "My Groups" or you get access from your own page.
4. If you are getting too many email notifications, just click "Stop Following" wherever you see it - that will start to limit the emails you get. Don't stop all notifications because you then won't know if someone is sending you a message.
Just browse through stuff the site. Go to Forum, then HOW TO DO STUFF ON N4M, for more info.
On the NEW MOMS STOP HERE group (I am one of the admins) we have a bunch of reference PAGES underneath the member icons. The survival guide will gave you outline your the information you'll need. Watch the videos. YOU HAVE TO MAKE IT EFFORT TO READ THIS STUFF - OVER AND OVER AGAIN. We know it's boring. Keep at it. It'll get better. In no time, this will become second nature.

It was awesome. I was brought to tears several times during the ceremony. It was great seeing all the sailors. I was proud of every single one of them.
