I know it sounds pitiful; but this is the first time that I have been away from her! I cant call, text or get to her like usual!! Please tell me how u moms get through these times? I know to think about the positive and fun times, I do and that's what gets me...missing her smile and laugh!!! Help me..Lost mom!!

My daughter left in March for BC, she grad. on 5/6 and is in Virginia Beach, VA for A and C school.   I STILL cry thinking about her not being here.. it is awful. it has been soooooooo difficult for me.. there is no prep. for this.. :(   YOu aren't alone, this is where you'll get moms who know EXACTLY what you are going through!!!

As of March all sailors leave GL on Sat., if their A school is not in GL.  If their A school is in GL, you will have the weekend to spend with them, after they check into A school.  If your sailor is going elsewhere to A school, they will be leaving Sat., at some point for A school.  It isn't called "grad and go" anymore/... they just changed the way they leave.  We went to the airport on Sat. and spent time with our daughter before she flew out.  So, make plans to do that, you'll get a little extra time with them that way.
hope this helps!
