Our year starts off with a mixed military group in Africa .
Hot and dusty is how it was described to me by my POC . He leads a group of Marines, Airmen, sailors and soldiers who provide communications all over the Eastern side of Africa.

Their WISH list is really very simple .They still have another 8 months in their hot ,humid and very dusty conditions . With 8-10 hours of sunshine a day they are not in need of Winter woollies that's for sure ! The majority of the personnel are married and miss family comforts ,of a letter or painting from their kids . They have plain white metal walls in their accommodation and offices ! For most part French power units of 220v , so not sure how the request for coffee makers will work out . Other than adapters .

Let's show them all some Navy Mom love ,as their pacakages will arrive in Febuary , and help make this deployment go by faster for them .

CLEANING PRODUCTS. This was first and foremost on his list . The sand and dirt gets into EVERYTHING . So ANYTHING to help with DUSTING !!!!

Drink mixes
Anything that mixes in water .
Coffee pods for Kuerig
Kuerig coffee maker
Flavored coffee creamers

Snacks~
Dried fruit
Nuts / trail mixes / cliff bars
Jerky
Wheat thins
Rice Krispy treats
Microwaveable snacks

Personal
Different smelling hand sanitizes
Hand lotions
Air freshners
Regular SOFT tissues

Entertainment

Playing cards
Puzzle books
Board games

Moral Boosters
Pictures, cards and letters from school kids
Anything to brighten up their living conditions with different holidays in mind .

Just wanted to let you know that the request has gone for a donation of Green Mountain coffee as well as a coffee maker.  They said they will make a decision on our request in 2 weeks!  (Really not a long time to hear about a donation!)  So everyone keep your fingers and toes crossed that they will come thru for us.  Massachusetts Navy Moms are pushing hard to get these items for our troops in Djibouti!!!

Thank you Sarabi2013 and Dee .
We should have smiling faces and warm hearts when all of our boxes are opened in Djibouti.
Thank you Moms and I hope to be thanking Green Mountain coffee too in a couple of weeks :)

Sheryl - I don't know if I posted for sure but I shipped out 9 boxes this last week - I will have 1 more box to go out tomorrow full of homemade Valentines my son and I put together over the weekend.  Sorry that one went out late.  Honestly, it wasn't that it was an after thought, just so much going on that I hadn't had time to get them done.  The boxes that already went out included a variety of things.  Cleaning wipes, lotions, shower gels in a few boxes, food stuff including peanut butter, oreos, cheez its, cracker jacks, etc in the others.  I also sent a bunch of individual packs of Hi-C mix, lemonade and coffee mixes.

Sent one box today - included a game, mio, coffee creamer, snacks, hand wipes,

Thank you Huskerfan and Lynda . I'm fighting flu and feel like I have been in Djibouti personally with the fever I've had !
Sorry for not checking in sooner . But I'm on the up and up .

I can't wait to hear back from Tim and the surprised faces as they open these boxes up .
Job well done ladies and thank you all

Sheryl, Molly's Adopt A Sailor thanks you for being a great Mom of the Month! GREAT JOB!!!!!

I agree with Pat! Great job!!!

Sheryl, I sent 5 boxes including cleaning supplies, air fresheners, drink mix, snacks, Clif bars, glass cleaner wipes, hygiene products and coffee creamer. I hope you get to feeling better.  (((NMH)))

Hoping that this freak weather down here clears up . I swear it's following me !
Not getting out today but my neighbors hubby took my boxes yesterday .

And my youngest sailor just texted from Italy that he's getting a Navy Achievement Medal tomorrow .
Can't wait to see him in 3 wks time

Thank s again Kim for all the cleaning products . I think they will have the cleanest unit ever :)
Pat
Thank you for asking me to be a MOM again . It was an honor . I know that very little bit of home comfort counts . These men and women don't enlist and openly hope that they get deployed . Just from reading on my various groups , some moms are horrified that their loved ones are " being sent " somewhere harmful but it's the way of the world unfortunately yo .

I know that I am very grateful for such an organization as MAS . I will be on the other end later this year with our eldest and his deployment .
Thank you to all the wonderful moms and friends who help ,in any way they can .
I have one box of coffee creamer and hard candies that will go out tomorrow or Friday when we thaw out some. Thanks!!!!

I will be mailing 2 boxes today since it has finally thawed out.  Many snacks, air freshner and 53 neck coolers
