I was just wondering what are some good hotels located near great lakes, IL bootcamp for graduation? I don't know when he's graduating but I was just wondering what are some hotels near the graduation place?

I was just in GL in January when my brother graduated bootcamp, and the hotel I stayed at was Days Inn. It's pretty close to base. It'll probably be the same place I go to when my husband graduates.
My son just graduated August 31st. Springhill Suites (Marriott) in Waukegan is very nice and close enough to the Naval Station. There is a Walmart and several restaurants nearby.
Get to the Naval Station as EARLY as you can to get good seats and avoid the long line to get in. We got there at 7AM and were in line behind hundreds of people!
Also, just let me say... the Navy knows how to put on a helluva graduation!!! Congrats to your Recruit, LaneGF! I'm so very very proud of mine!!!
I have made reservations at Quality inn for my son PIR in oct has anyone stayed there?
We attended PIR on the 14th of September. we stayed at the Marriot Residence Inn in waukegan. I have nothing but great things to say about the help at the front desk. they were able to give us great reference to places to eat. they run a shuttle to and from PIR starting at 600am for 3 bucks. let them know and you will get on the van. the van was easy and very close to the building where you will watch graduation. REALLY close.
Residence Inn offered free breakfast buffet every morning. Something for everyone. A social one night with free beer and wine, pop burgers,, dogs chips and two salads.
We stayed in a a two bedroom suite with kitchen and living area. two bedrooms and two baths. they offered PIR rates that i felt were very reasonable. We also had a one bedroom with a kitchen and living room. the extra space was great for catching up with our sailor. he was able to relax and text and email all his friends to announce he was back on the social network while we took an hour nap after getting up early to be there at PIR.
