Does anyone else have a child leaving for Great Lakes on this day?

Definitely.  Does anyone know the details of what happens on the day they go?  We live close enough to drive him there.  Are we allowed to drive him or does the recruiter take them?

He will spend the night before he is sworn in in a hotel. You can see him sworn in. The recruiter will be letting him know how it will happen.

My son is leaving on 11/10 as well.  He's super excited.  I'm very happy for him, but will miss him terribly, especially around the holidays.

Not sure about driving there. We take my son to a hotel the night before. He then gets sworn in at the federal building on the 10th. We can spend some time with him before he leaves either by plane, train or bus. They haven't told us that part yet....then we just wait for the infamous 12 second call that he got there.
My daughter also leaves on November 10th. Sad because we live in different cities and will be flying out to my son's PIR scheduled for 11/13/15. Double dose of Navy Mom.
How do I add peopke to my oage or request friends? I am so grief stricken I know this should be easy to do but I cant figure it out

KayeGee, to add a Member as a friend, Click on the Member's profile pic anywhere in the site and it will take you to that Member's My Page. Then you can click on "Add as Friend" below the Member's profile pic on their My Page. Once the Member has accepted your request, then you have a Friend on N4M.

Check your My Page.
