We were also allowed at the final swear in ceremony at the meps building.
Just go to the airline check in where they check in at and show your ID they will give you a guess pass to go to the gate with your sailor
I hope they will allow more than one person thru security with him...
We had 2 and the other person had 5 buy I've heard it also depends on the airport ours was a small one
Thanks so much for the info! Guess we'll find out tomorrow! Btw...I don't suppose you have any suggestions for waterproof mascara? I'm gonna need it. LOL
My daughter left on sept 29th. I have only received her box of clothes. I am anxiously awaiting for her phone call or letter. Whichever comes first. It sucks we have to wait 3 weeks to even receive an address.
Thanks for the info. I can't believe you haven't gotten any phone calls or letters...always heard you'd get one call as soon as they arrived and a letter within about a week. Hope you hear something soon!

Mine left Charlotte NC on 10/6. Aaarrrghggghh!!!! His box of personal belongings came Fedex today.  :(

I am anxiously waiting for something!!
My son left yesterday and I have been crying a lot.
Yesterday was rough for us too. I'm so excited for him and truly happy but those tears wouldn't stop flowing! Trying to hold it together more today....just gonna miss having him near. Good luck to you & your son as well! Where is he headed after basic? My son will be going to Corps school in San Antonio.
Thank you so much. My husband was an HM but went to school in San Diego (where we met). Guess everyone goes to San Antonio now. I'll go peek at the post now. Thanks again!
