Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

leaving Thursday (25th)
I am lost and being fed little info (which of course is driving me nuts). I understand I can go over to MEPS (?) on Thursday morning to witness the final swearing in before he leaves.... but can I go to the airport with him? The recruiter has said all he knows is that I can show up at 8 Thursday morning. This is happening in Dallas. Does anyone know what happens?

Just FYI. The family can go to the airport but you are not allowed past security. Now I understand that once they are done with boot camp family can get a pass to go with them - at the very least to the USO. Hope this helps future families - at least from the Dallas area.

As Mamma D confirmed; Yes, you can go to MEPS to watch him swear in and then go to the airport where he can ask that you be signed in as a visitor to sit at the gate with him.

Our son left Sept 25th out of Shreveport, connected in Dallas and then on to GL

My son left from MIA to Great Lakes on the 25th as well. Haven't heard his voice since he landed in Chicago. He used his call to phone his father. So anxiously awaiting any word. I stalk this site to see if anyone hears from their recruit that left near or on the same day as mine...
