For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Hello Dalton's Mom. Welcome to Navy for Moms. We are all in this together. To answer your question about "The Form Letter." You can can do a search on Google and type in: Navy Great Lakes. It should give you the Navy Great Lakes recruit Command. On that web site there is a lot of information regarding graduation, rules everything. You can even print out a parking pass. Here is the website: http://www1.netc.navy.mil/nstc/rtcgl/staff/check_in.asp
When you go to this website, click on "Home," and then click on "Families." You can click on any of the links from the top.
What is your sons PIR date? Is it 8/6/2010 ? I must warn you too so that you don't freak out. I have been talking to a several moms/girlfriends and they have received letters from their sailors saying that they are being moved around a lot to other divisions. (but they keep the same PIR date).
On my form letter, and as far as I know. My son's is on Ship 12 Division 268. PIR Date 8/6/2010. My son has been at Great Lakes since June 15th. He called me to tell me he got there ok. He also called me on Sat June 19th, to tell me that everything was fine, and that he was happy. I have not heard anything from him since then. We are a very close family and this is the longest we have ever gone without talking. I definitely know how you feel.

Sandy. ps...You can get your son's address from his recruiter. That is how I got my son's address before the form letter arrived.
