Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Letters to those without MAIL
I had read on this site to send an additional letter inside my son's letter for him to pass forward to someone without mail. I just wanted to pass on how much this meant to the young man who wrote back to me! He didn't expect any mail ( and I'm not sure why) but states that no one has written back to him--EXCEPT ME! They need to know that there is a grateful crowd of people-- MOMS that we are--not just to my son but to the whole of the NAVY troops! My son may have chose to join, but in respect I have chosen to join with him....BEHIND THEM ALL--ALL THE WAY! HOOYAH!!

That's nice! I was thinking of doing the same thing. But I was going to address it to a 'recruit who got no mail today'. Wondering if the RDC would ask who didn't get mail and pass them out. I thought about sending like 5 at a time. If anyone knows let me know please.

I sent a large envelope to my son with 100 letters in it. I addressed it to him, but wrote letters for the division on the outside. The kids and dad helped with writing!!! I also placed each letter in its own envelope, addressed the large envelope, sealed it ,stamped it and sent them off. I was worried my son would get extra PT, but he didn't. The package arrived and he handed the letters out... I think he kind of liked it. Had a few lovely letters back that meant the world to us... Just felt good sending the package and hoping it made 1 sailors day. It was so worth the effort! Hooyah!
