OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Liberty After PIR
Hi,
I'm new to the site, so forgive me if I ask questions that have been repeated time and time again. But I had a question about liberty after the PIR.
The thing is, my boyfriend's family lives overseas so they asked me to go to his PIR in their place (something I was planning on doing anyways). But I've read that all graduates need a "liberty buddy" (we aren't engaged or anything so I don't exist in the navy's book). And I was wondering if I could just take him out after graduation without problems (or would we need to bring someone else? I've heard both answers). He's in the Nuclear Engineering program so he'll be going to A School in South Carolina (if I'm not mistaken). He'll still have Friday for liberty and we won't have problems with him leaving base just the two of us, right?
From what I've researched, I understand that most graduates will have at least the day of their graduation (until about 7-9PM) to spend time with family/friends. My boyfriend got shipped off to bootcamp almost a week ago so I'm guessing that he'll be graduating July 24, 2015 (that would be 8 weeks from now) but I have yet to receive his box or form letter so I'm not completely sure and will book a room when I get the letter. I'm planning on staying at the navy lodge and I know that he'll just want to chill in the hotel room rather than go out (he's just that type).
Also, would it be wise to stay another day? I live in California so I'll be flying there, and I was wondering if I should send him off at the airport when he leaves for A School. Or would there not be enough time to even do that? I won't be able to go to the gate with him since I'm not family or his wife, correct?
Sorry for all the questions... But I'd really appreciate any help since I'm figuring all this out on my own amidst classes and preparing for the mcat over the summer. Thank you so much in advance for any help you can give!

You will be able to be his Liberty Buddy and will have no problems leaving the RTC together.
He will most likely fly out the next day, so you will want to leave late Saturday or on Sunday so you can spend time with him at the airport. See PIR Day and Liberty During PIR Weekend to help you know how to plan your weekend. There is info on the gate pass there as well.
