For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Liberty Prior to PIR
Do they get any liberty prior to PIR or is our first time to see them actually at PIR? I am not sure when to go up there. I want to be able to send as much time as possible with my son but I don't want to get there too early and just set around and not be able to see him. We are planning on staying until Sunday but not sure what day to fly up. Need help on this one.

They do not get liberty prior. You see them as they march in on Friday morning. You do want to get there early to get in the long line and to get decent seats. Do you know where his A school will be? That affects the time they have over that weekend. If you don't know that, do you know the rating or program in his contract?
If it is in Great Lakes, you see each other right after the ceremony, then he must go check into the new school side of the base. You can pick him up several hours later for dinner. He should have all day Sat and Sun, but must return each evening. If the school is out of state, you get Friday after the ceremony, he must return that evening, and will almost certainly fly out on Saturday morning. You can get a gate pass to visit at the airport until flight departure.

Arrive no later than the day before PIR. You may want to go to one or more of the Meet and Greets to get together with others with loved ones who are also having PIR. There are 3 meet and greets the night before PIR. Find Events on the right and move on the calendar to the day before PIR and click the date and the links for info about each M&G will be shown. Sarge's Meet and Greet is getting great reviews as being the most helpful, but Flanagan's and Ramada Inn also have Meet and Greets.
Have you received the form letter with the PIR date? If so, go to http://www.navyformoms.com/forum/topics/groups-listed-by-pir-date and click on the date and then join to connect with others with loved ones training with your SR.

What will his rating (job) be? As Anti M indicated where he goes for "A" School will affect how much Liberty he will have PIR weekend. There are also groups for most of the ratings and/or "A" Schools.
