How can I find out my sons postal mailing address so that I can send him a care package when he's out at sea? He doesn't seem to know it.

Thanks I will try that. This will be his first deployment so I don't know what to expect and he's not much on giving me information that a mom needs. I wondered like what can be put in the care package? This is my first time on this website as well.

Care packages can have most anything he likes in them. I have sent drink mixes, summer sausage cereal candy cookies little debbies shaving things new underwear socks pitcher and measuring cup for drinks magazines of his interests etc...Remember they share their boxes so put extra in and I used bulk candies for packing material.  Oh go to the dollar store and get the theater size boxes of candies too pudding cups.  The list can just go on have fun with it.

What vessel is he stationed with?  There may be a group on here for it.  Also, what is his rating (job/specialty)?  There may be a group on here for that as well.  With that info we can get you connected with others with Sailors in a similar situation.  There may be ideas for care packages in the group, Mothers Getting ready for deployment (it hasn't been active lately, but there may still be ideas).

I see you are from Virginia; you may want to check out Virginia Moms.

Thanks for all the help. My son is on the USS Harry Truman I think his rank is Fireman E3.

You may want to join the group, USS Harry S. Truman, to connect with others with loved ones on that vessel.  Does your Sailor have a rating (job/specialty) or is he part of the PACT program?  If he is part of the E-PACT program, you may wish to join the group, Undesignated...What's Up With That?.
