Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

My son arrived to GL Feb. 11. Don't have his information yet on ship or division he is but would like to chat with mom's who's sons/daughters left the same day.

Although I'm not a mom and its my boyfriend that arrived the same day at GL I would love to talk to you about our SR's and how to get through this time while they are away.

Has your SR had to call for any information yet?
My boyfriend had to call his mom for some information I guess for clearance stff.

No...I haven't received a phone call since the "I'm here" one. I'm hoping to hear from him as it seems like everyone else is. Thing is Erik lost his cell phone the week before he left but did have a calling card so I'm sure he'll call if he needs too.
Also ..he's 22 and has lived away from home when he went to college so he's use to being away. Because of this I'm afraid he won't write as much... but I hope that's not the case

Have you started writing letters to Erik? While I dont have the address for Mike yet I have already started writing so once I get his address all I have to do is label the address onto them and stick them into the mail box.

oh yes, been doing a lot of writing. Hopefully he has been doing the same. Went to WSU for journalism and wrote for the school paper so I know he can too.
Can't wait till tomorrow....you can bet I'm going to be looking for that FedEx truck and hopefully his info is in it. Thank goodness I have tomorrow off for Presidents Day so I will NOT be going anywhere :)
