Hello ladies! There has been some chatter about our Meet & Greet. The Ramada puts it on regardless if we choose to attend or not, from what I understand. There have also been many mixed reviews about the quality of it lately. Please let us know what you think, what you have heard, any suggestions, etc. We want to be able to have a great time with each other!! Let's start talking...we shouldn't wait til the last minute to decide.

I'll see you there!
PKsMom- Here's a link for the Amvets down there...the Hall looks really nice. Maybe you can call them and see what they can do for us. Its about 12-13 miles from the RTC. I would aprox. about 100 ppl would show up. We can buy drinks from them and you could ask them about food maybe and costs. Just another lead for you. They do a huge thanksgiving dinner for the recruits every year so they have worked with ppl about base functions before...might help haha.

I'd be glad to check it out and get back to you all; may take a few days though. At least we'll have some options to discuss..
Ok, where do you get all the info on the M&G, I did not see it on any of the information in the form letter received. Which Ship and Division is it for or is it for all that are graduation on the 8th? Please post times and places for the M&G and anything else I need to be aware of - thanks! everyone seems to pitch in - let me know what I can do also.
Michelle-We don't have it set up yet...thats what we are trying to figure out haha. It will be Thursday evening though (Oct 7). We will keep everyone posted on the final plans :)) It is for our whole group (PIR 10/8) here on N4M and your guests.
Sounds like a great idea. If I can help just let me know....
I had originally made reservations at the Ramada, but cancelled them after reading a lot of bad reviews both on the Navy4moms site and on the Ramada website itself. I still plan to go to the M&G, but just will not be sleeping there.
Hello, which Ramada will the meet and greet be at?
The Ramada in Waukegan I believe
Has anyone checked on Motel 6? Free shuttle to PIR, complimentary reception, indoor pool, restaurant, and less than $50 a night.
I called motel 6- no complimentary reception, no indoor pool, and no restaurant, but they do have a shuttle to and from PIR.
Just an FYI. My middle son went through PIR in January. I went to the meet and greet and I thought it was fine. It is dark and kinda old, but I didn't really go to judge the room, just to meet up with people I had met in our PIR group. We ended up meeting families of other recruits that didn't even know about N4M. That was kind of nice too.

As far as staying there....I would say, probably not a good idea. From what I heard from families that stayed there, they said it was not super clean and it was really old and not in great shape.

We stayed at the Residence Inn and probably will stay there again for my youngest son's PIR on Oct 29th. Another hotel I heard was really nice was SpringHill Suites.

Good luck with your upcoming date!! I can't wait till our PIR clock is in the 30's!!
