OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

I recommend you go to Sarge's Meet and Greet (PIR 11/02/2012 SARGE'S MEET AND GREET) because he will have lots of info for you.  You may also be able to go to part of one or both of the other two:  PIR 11/02/2012 Ramada Meet and Greet and/or PIR 11/2/2012 Flanagan's Meet & Greet

(Each of those is a clickable link to more information.)

Thank you.

You're welcome.  I hope you had a great time and enjoyed a wonderful weekend with your new Sailor.

There will be 3 adults.

tinky35, join the group, PIR 11/30/2012 TG 3, to connect with others with loved ones training with your SR.  It's not too late.  You may also want to join, or at least check out, Boot Camp Moms and PIR Reference Information.

SInce PIR is this week, what will your SR's rating (job) be?  There are groups for most ratings and/or "A" Schools.

(Group names within this reply are clickable links.  To join a group, click on the group name and after the group page opens, click on “+ Join...” in the upper right.)

How do  i find out about the meet and greets  for pir 03/01/2013   ? I am new to all this

The Meet and Greets for that PIR date have not been posted yet.  They do not usually post them until the RTC posts the PIR date on http://www.bootcamp.navy.mil/upcoming_grads.asp.  To find them, click on the Events tab above (or move the calendar under Events at the right to the correct month) and click on the date for the day before PIR, February 28, 2013, and once they have been posted, there will be more info there.  Sarge will have one from 5:30pm to 9pm – SUNDANCE SALOON WAUKEGAN 300 LAKEHURST ROAD WAUKEGAN that I suggest you plan to attend since he give a lot of great information along with a visual presentation.  You may also want to drop by one or both of the other two.  The Ramada Inn will also have one from 6pm to 8pm – Ramada Waukegan. They have been doing the meet and greet for the longest. They have a handout of info that you can get. Most of the time Flanagan's also has one from 5pm to 9pm – Flanagan's Sports Bar and Grill.
