All Hands Magazine's full length documentary "Making a Sailor": This video follows four recruits through Boot Camp in the spring of 2018 who were assigned to DIV 229, an integrated division, which had PIR on 05/25/2018.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose). Still limited to 2 guests maximum.
Specific information on this policy change will be provided in the coming days and weeks.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your support.
RESUMING LIVE PIR - 8/13/2021 - ONLY 2 GUESTS ALLOWED
MASK AND SOCIAL DISTANCING IS REQUIRED.
NO MASK, NO ENTRY
**UPDATE - 2020**
Due to COVID there is no public PIR. The graduations are on Thursday, and the video of the graduation is posted on RTC's FaceBook on Friday at approx 3pm. Please keep in mind that a division may need to complete additional quarantine during training which will delay their graduation.
Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass isno longer needed to drive on to base for parking.
Please see changes to attending PIR in the PAGES column. The PAGES are located under the member icons on the right side.
So sorry that happened. Mine left last Wednesday and he called just before 8pm our time. I sure wasnt expecting
a call that early. A week later I can
still hear that scripted message.
What part of Cincy are you in? I live in Harrison and work in Blue Ash
I live ive in Springdale. My son left in July. This is the longest time that we've ever been separated. Even though I gave him my blessings when he told me this is what he wanted to do, I didn't think I would miss him this much. Im sure it's because he's my only child and we did everything together. So it is a big adjustment for both of us. I'm counting down the days til his graduation (21 to be exact - lol).
I sure understand doing everything together. Mine is the baby (Of two). He graduated in May and still went to the grocery with me. Everything I was involved in he managed to participate in. I'm on the recreation commission and he would always show up and help and come back at the end and clean up
I so understand what you're going thru and the pain in your heart is real but when you see him at PIR your heart is bound to swell out of your chest
You need to get a countdown clock for your pc, etc. I had one on my iPad and iPhone for leaving for BC bot I have it counting down to PIR 48 days :)
