In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

My daughter is at Ship 6 Div 2341 rehab for stress fracture
I would love to hear from anyone who may have son/daughter at the same ship/division.

Hi my name is Julie.. I am sorry about your daughter in May. I hope she has recovered. This is the only thread I have found that related to what is going on with my son. He too has stress fracture in both right and left tibia. Final run they fractured and was held for graduation only a few days off. He is now "stuck" in DIV. 2341 on limited light duty healing. He is handeling it, though It is very tough on him. He worries he won't heal. I know he will. To add insult to injury his beloved girlfried decided to move on with her life and wrote a "Dear John" yesterday. He has not got it yet. It makes me sick as a Mom to know that my only child is not only physically hurt, but now will be emotionally . She is too imature and selfish to wait til he is feeling a bit stronger. Needs to clear her calandar. His fractures were sustained about 3 weeks ago. He has been off crutches for the last two weeks even though he says they hurt the same. Bones take a long time to stop hurting. He wants to stick it out and heal and try the final run again. He really wants to stay in the Navy. Have any advise for a Mom who is hurting for her son?

So very sorry to read of your son's troubles. Send him lots of love, encouragement and support while he is going thru this healing process. Ahhh...young girlfriend - selfish comes to mind but since I don't know her I will try not to pass judgement but her timing was certainly not good.
Hope he gets fighting mad and finishes that run for a successful future as a sailor. Good luck to him.

Thank you Mary...your words encourage me greatly. I have hoped he would do the same knowing him the way I do. He did tell me he has made lots of friends and his bunkie is from Ca like us and has the same problem. They are close friends already he says. Hopefully they will root each other on to the finish.
Yes the girlfriend is very selfish and her timing is about her needs. I couldnt reason with her about thinking of others first esspeccially in this kind of situation.
Glad I am 47 years...I think.

julie...so sorry to hear about your son and his immature gf...hope he's back on his feet and back in boot camp soon. There are a couple of groups that you can join till he's back in a regular division. Go to groups and in the search box put rcu...there are 2 or 3 groups for ship 6 div 2341 rcu. You can choose the most active one.

Thanks Jessica...I just don't really have any place to turn. Other people don't get it. I don't get it really either, but I FEEL it! I know a mother is suppossed to let go and let the birdie fly, but it is hard when your son or daughter is in a situation like this, and the communication is sketchy. It makes me feel very helpless to help him. So I write a lot of encouraging letters with a lot of hope and love. Then gf throws a wrench in the whole thing. I hope he gets angry enough to kick his determination and will into overdrive so he can run that time and join the fleet.
