Would my daughter get Medical or General Discharge i

Posted on May 28, 2010 at 3:11pm 5 Comments

My daughter may be separated from Navy Boot Camp due medical injuries. She is currently in Ship 6 recouping.

If she is separated, does anyone know if it would be a Medical or General Discharge?

She told me she may also choose to come home to recoup and then go back at a later time to Boot Camp. As a mother, I am not sure this is a good idea as I know she is skeptical that she may suffer the same injuries or worse.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated, especially about… Continue

I have some more questions. I heard from my daughter, she now has a

different diagnosis. First it was stress fracture of neck of femur

(shown by xray), then MRI was done and was inconclusive but she may

need surgery. then the latest was bone scan and she was told she would

not need surgery, there were no stress fractures or breaks but stress

reaction to her leg bones. She has yet to be seen by an orthopedic

doctor or any doctor.

Today she got to call me and… Continue

Does any one know what happens if she gets discharged from BC as a recruit? Will Nave take care of her while she is recouperating or will they send her home having to take care of rehab herself financially?

Any info would be most… Continue

Hello! I saw your blog about your daughter's injury and the questions you have in the event she is separated. The place to get answers to those questions is in Ship 5. Ship 5 is where recruits are separated. :o( I do understand your need to be informed ahead of time and I would say be positive positive because it could be healed and she will return to BC. However, below is a link if you want to look around or post some questions. Good luck! Join this group:
