Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

You can get the address from her recruiter after 3 or so days - ours looked it up and gave it to us.. we are 1 1/2 weeks in and do not have comformation of grad date.. but keep looking on the PIR site here - we have a good idea from that .. Our son got to call the day he got to Camp.. do not expect the Hi ... how are you conversation .. as it will not be allowed.. best of luck on this new adventure .. being a military mom is a bit differnet.. this site has had numerous articles, blogs and videos that helped me get an idea of what is up.. I have only been here for 2 weeks --- but feel liked I have learned a great deal ...

Stewmom.....thank you. I did finally hear from her late last night. But as soon as she hung up, it finally hit me, so I started crying. Thank goodness noone else was awake.

Oh.... I did the same thing. I cried the minute we hung up. She arrived on the 19th and I feel lost without her. I was reading on all the other forums and it will be about 3 weeks before we receive any info.. Hang in there as I am trying as well.

When will I be getting the form letter with her address? I have my list ready of friends and family, waiting to send her letters. I al also wondering how she is dealing with the extreme cold weather up there at Great Lakes. We live down here in Florida, and I know she mustbe a popsicle by now.....haha. These past 5 days have been really hard on her little brother. Any suggestions?

Conster and everyone else whose rct left 1/18...your PIR date MAY be 3/18 here is the link and it also may be a week later 3/25 and that group has not been formed yet. Go ahead and join the 3/18 group and hang out till your PIR date is comfirmed. http://www.navyformoms.com/group/pir31811
You should be getting your form letter and kid in a box in about a week or two.
You can get their temporary address from the recruiter.

Hi ! My daughter left for bootcamp from Tampa,Fl MEPS on December 14. We got a very quick call to let us know she was there. That was it....About 5 days later her clothes came back through the mail.....After that it took about a week to get the introduction letter with a very quick note on the bottom of the page from her......The first call I got from her was very upsetting because she was so homesick...I couldn't stop crying myself. After that we got a letter here and there and the more letters we got the better she sounded..We got our first real call from her on the 12th of January.She sounded much better........I am hoping we get another call this weekend but I guess you never know. We have 28 days until she graduates and I count every minute of every day until we can see her again........I hope this helps you......It is a long hard 2 months but I wanted you to know you are not alone................Good luck and god bless all of the new recruits.......
