My Daughter Left For Boot Camp 12-10-12 - Are There Any Other Moms Out There?

My daughter left this evening and now I am awaiting her arrival call.  I am so happy for her, proud of her, and scared for her.  She's a lil bit of a thing but I know she can do it.  I don't like waiting much so this will definitely be a learning experience for me.  Hopefully I will get the letter that gives me her mailing address and what ship and division she will be in by the end of the week.

Oh I'm so sorry...  I pray all is well with him and that you will receive something soon.

My son just left on Dec. 4th. I had a really hard time letting go! But it's getting better everyday. I was so excited to get the formatted letter with his address, but it also made me realize that this is really happening. I got the letter after about 5 days. He is there and it kills me that I can't talk to him at the end of the day or week even to see how he's doing. Can't wait to get that first real letter from him. Hang in there!

I feel the same way.  I'm so use to seeing my daughter everyday and talking or texting to her every day...  I mailed out 6 letters earlier today.  I know she is going to be like " Momma, you didn't miss any second of any day" lol...

For those w their form letters already and have NOT joined your PIR group, you should do so asap - you'll find others in the same boat and will forms some great bonds. Good luck to all.

For your convenience here are the upcoming PIR groups. Just click on the link associated with your son/daughter's PIR date. BQB

I tried to find my PIR group (2-13-13)on here but I couldn't.  So if you could point me in the right direction, that would be great...  :-)

Have you received a form letter?  02/13/2013 is a Wednesday and there is no federal holiday that would cause PIR to be on a Wednesday that week, so your SR would either have PIR on 02/08/2013 or 02/15/2013.  I see that she is in Division 090, so that means her PIR is 02/08/2013.  The group for that date has just bee created so go to http://www.navyformoms.com/group/pir02082013 and join.  Divisions 089 and 090 are brother divisions and train together, so look for others with loved ones in either division.

Yes, I received her letter (form) and she has written, "08 FEB 13. Oh wow, the light just went on...  I saw it as Feb 13, 2013 and not Feb 8, 2013.  I'm soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo glad you found my error.  I had mapped our route there and everything...  Can't wait for my husband to get home so I can show him my blunder...  LLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLL!!!!!

;o)

I forgot to ask, how many guests did she include on the form letter, 3 or 4?  Thanks.

Ok, I was sooo wrong...  Her PIR is 2-08-13.  She wrote it as "08 FEB 13"  Why I saw Feb 13, 2012 is beyond me...  Too funny...  Thanks to lemonelephant for catching my error...

You are so welcome.  We have each others' backs.
