For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

My daughter left for bootcamp
On June 29th my 18 year old daughter left for bootcamp. She is my youngest child out of 8. We have always been very close and this has been very difficult for me knowing she will never be home again as my baby. I am concerned about how she will do in boot camp and have never gone so long without talking to her. At the same time I am very proud of her and know she has made a good decision. My husband found this site and am hoping to learn more about what she is experiencing and get support.

Hello my daughter left the same day I just received her letter with graduation info today there graduation will be Aug 28th can't wait to see my baby girl I feel ur pain I'm missing my daughter so much she's my oldest 1st one to leave the best prayers for u and your family see u at graduation

I am still waiting for the letter but we are in Alaska and everything takes forever.I was anticipating the PIR on the 28th. I hope it comes soon.

7/1 ship dates seem to be split on. Pir. Our recruiter told me that some from 6/25 were held for divisions and the first in filled those or something to that effect giving an 8/28 date. My daughter is div 289 ship 11 so maybe has met your daughters. Her Pir is 9/4 from recruiter but am waiting on making flight plans till I get letter. Anyone know if liberty will be extended on 9/4 weekend as it is Labor Day

Yes, there will be extended daytime Liberty for those staying in GL. They will have daytime Liberty each day of th long weekend. Those flying out will still most likely fly out on Saturday. See PIR Day and Liberty During PIR Weekend to help you know how to plan your weekend.

Hello, my 18 year old daughter also left for boot camp. She left on June 30th. I feel the same way! It is really hard. I'm hoping to hear from her soon. I've sent out a few letters and so has my husband and our 9 year old. Hang in there!

Hi my oldest Daughter left that day also, We are a close/tight family and its killing me not being able to talk to her. My youngest (boy) had a bond with his sister and he finally broke down the other nite. that was very emotional. I just recieved her address over the weekend so now the letters begin.

Hi Sarahsmom,
My 18 yo daughter also left for boot camp. She has been my helper the most responsible of my three girls. I miss her dearly. She shipped out on June 24. We have received a phone call from our baby, and what a relief to hear her voice. As soon as I did, I knew all was well. If you haven't received your first phone call, you will know what I mean as soon as you do. I am amazed by how excited she was to talk about all she is accomplishing. The instructors really do seem to care about our babies and I am glad they are providing such a bright future. Hope this helps a bit. I am looking forward to my new and improved daughter to flash her smile at me the next time I see her.

This is a great place to get information. I understand the difficulty of not being in communication. My baby daughter left June 2. She is scheduled for PIR (graduation) July 24. These last days I am anxious to get that call that she is a sailor and no longer a recruit. The second telephone call I got from my daughter, she says she loves the letters and needs news. Now I search the net and copy paste news articles to send. I received a letter and she sent a thank you from everyone on her ship (barracks) because my recruit is sharing the news. So even if you are not hearing from your daughter send many letters and have the family do the same thing. The weeks are long but now it seems very close till we see her again. We are people that have faith in Jesus and prayer has allowed us to have confidence that all will be great. Remember to pray without ceasing.
