Sometimes we I get our ETs and FCs confused or simply not sure which sailors are what rate so it was suggested that we start a new list so if you don't mind signing in to the the appropriate forum...I won't call your sailor an FC, if you don't call my sailor an ET!!! :-D

My Sailor is an FC, named Nick and he is currently in C school @ Dahlgren

My son is still cleaning - he graduated 2/26. He is still waiting to begin ATT school. He says others graduated after he did and were classed up already. Guess the sailors are never really told how long the wait will be - could be a short period, or a very long period. He did tell me yesterday the longest hold is between ATT & A school. The waiting is the hard part - for them & for us as we hear their anxiousness to get moving. My son said he will now be BMA over his ship. He won't have to clean anymore but will now be the person who fixes everything that breaks on their ship. He's not sure whether this is a preferable thing or not yet next to cleaning!
Thanks for the info, He's tired of cleaning did you say he was on the enterprise?
Yes - he really wanted to be on the Cole. I guess their newest nicest ship with a lot of FC's. As a BMA this will now become his permanent ship. He joined the navy - you don't get to choose my husband said! Is your son on the Enterprise, too?
Yes he is on the Enterprise he said it's the oldest ship there and needs alot of cleaning. lol I think he's tired of cleaning and he's only been doing it 2 weeks
BR549 - My son says he probably knows your son as there aren't many FC's on that ship. My son is bored out of his mind cleaning, too. Good thing he has been playing basketball & doing 5K's. Not long ago the Enterprise's basement flooded due to a busted pipe and they had to bail water - speaking of the ship being old and what they do!
He told me last night he thinks he's getting ready to move to another ship, add me as a friend I'll email you
Anybody heard of A school starting in Great Lakes for FC anytime soon, this is my son's 3rd week since graduation, he's more than ready to move on.
Hi I am shortbecky and my son is in bootcamp and should P I R 4/16/10 as long as he passes battlestations this week. I am praying hard! He thought he would be FC the last time he got to call. is there still a long wait for A school?
Welcome ShortBecky! Congrats to your son on his upcoming PIR and FC rate. Battlestations can be worrisome for us moms, but he will pass and you will get your "I'm a Sailor" call! My son graduated 2/26 and hasn't classed up yet for ATT classes - though he thinks it will happen very soon. Then he will go back on hold for A school. My son seems to think the holds between ATT & A school can be up to three months right now. Our sailors hate the holds and want to get going with their jobs.
My husband graduate 4-16. He got his orders and he says that he is FC. Start ATT class on 4-19 and his expected graudation date for A school is Nov 18th.
How excited you must be to see boot camp come to an end, congrats to you and your new sailor! Will you be moving to GL to join him while he is in A school? Be sure to stop by the wives club thread in this group if you have not already - lots of good info about school and GL
Moving all depends on how fast we sell our house. With the market the way it is, it might be a long while before we can be living together again.
