OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

My son is in A school now and is in the Cole. Originally, he was on hold from 10/30/09 PIR to the first week in January for ATT. Then he lucked out and only had a week or two until FC school.

Mary, I believe A school for FC is 19 weeks. Matt is getting close to the end of A Sch then he has to complete ATT sch. When do they learn what system they will be working on. Is there normally a long wait for C school as it was with A school.

I am a mom of a new FC. He is in ATT school at Great Lakes. He graduated on July 23. He was only on hold for ATT for 2 days. From what I read here that is unusual. Anyway, I couldn't be more proud of him.

my husband hasn't even gone through basic yet but the contract says AECF does he get to choose ET or FC or do they choose? When will we know?

Hey Jamie -- the holds are starting to be very minimal now. The past year has been ugly for holds but two or three days for ATT was the normal when my son was going thru A school - he's an FC too.
Soonergirl ----- Your hubby won't get to pick, he will be assigned either FC or ET. The good news is both are great rates so don't stress over it. It used to be assigned in the third or fourth week of boot camp, then it moved to right before graduation and most recently - the assignment actually happened a couple days after graduation ----- before moving over to the other side of the base for school. What I am saying is...............it will be whenever they tell him!!! -

Hi Ladies. My daughter Shelby just graduated PIR and got her FC orders!! She starts A school in a few weeks. I will be soaking all y'alls past comments in so that I know what she is in for!!!
