Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Oh, I know your feelings right now! I was right there the end of May. My son left June 2. The party you will have will be a great memory for you and your son. I took lots of pictures...and have been sending prints along with his letters. He is into his 5th week of bootcamp...now, I am excited about his upcoming graduation! So many different levels of emotions along the journey of your child leaving for the Navy. I am excited, now, for him. His accomplishments are exciting. Have a great party! Take lots of pictures!!!

Well it is good that he's thinking about it a little. My recruit didn't think about it at all and then the day he was to leave for MEPS he panicked! But ended up being fine once his nerves calmed down a bit. Take lots of pictures! He will thank you for it. It's not easy but once you start receiving letters back from all the ones you''ve sent - it feels so rewarding. Good Luck! :)

My daughter also leaves on 7-07 - She's nervous and excited. Her emotions are all over the place. But I think she's just ready to get started on this next phase of her life. We are so proud of her. We all get a little down about her leaving home but I know she will thrive. We are taking her and her twins brother camping with the extended family over this weekend to celebrate her new adventures. Her twin brother leaves for the Navy in December. It's a double whammy! What one does the other is soon to follow!! Ha Ha. Congratulations to your sailor. We wish him the best of luck and tell him thank you for being generous enough to serve in the Navy! Take care

My thoughts are with you ladies today. My son left last Dec for BC and I remember all too well the pain my heart felt the day he left. But now all these months later, it seems like a lifetime. Join the group of July bootcamp it will be your lifeline. The sisters from December keep in touch everyday still. My Son will be deployed to Afg in a few months and I will again need my Navy for Moms.
Your hearts are feeling like it's broken into a million pieces today! It will get better I promise you!! So I'm sending each of you a BIG NAVY MOM!!!!! HUG

Hang in there you will be on a roller coaster ride of emotions. When you find out his ship and div. start a group and all the Moms on here from that div. can keep you up to date when each of you start to get letters. I love each one of my fellow Mothers on this site. We have all shared the experince together and it has been wonderful, because we all have the same emotions. You will get your phone call I'm here, then his box back with everything in it, then nothing for about three weeks, but let me tell you when you get that first letter you will be on top of the moon.

Thank you all for your thoughts and good wishes!!!! well I made it through the 1 st day!! He left yesterday , it was a hard morning! but he did great!! hes excited, looking forward to a new beginning The night he spent in the hotel with a new roomate was his 1st night away by himself, and he had a great time!!! hes a very friendly kid so I dont think he will have a problem with making new friends, its just the mental and physical stuff hes gotta get thru! Hes a little guy 5'4 and 125 pounds!!! but full of energy!!! I know
in my heart he will do great things,,, Its just the missing him part thats so hard..

Hugs to you! Now your job, in addition to prayer support, start your letter writing--dated and saved. When you finally get his address, you can mail your "book." He will love it and so will you! I didn't hear anything from my son until 3 weeks----so, stay strong! At 3 weeks, I also got a phone call. The form letter will come in about a week and so will "the box." (ha....I took a picture of "our box" when it arrived...LOL)

what a great idea!!!! Im going to start writing right now!!!!! I did hear from him about 1 am the day he got there,, It was a very quick call, no info ( dont know who was standing right there) but a t least I know he got there ok,, now I have to wait 3 weeks :( ,, looking forward to my package also!!
