OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Follow this link for OPSEC Guidelines:

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed.  Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Specific information on this policy change will be provided in the coming days and weeks.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your support.

RTC Graduation

**UPDATE 8/25/2022 - MASK MANDATE IS LIFTED.  Vaccinations still required.

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

My son is also Ship 14 div 048. He left for boot camp from DFW on the 5th and I have yet to receive his letter but was wondering if you have. I got his address from his recruit who said his listed graduation date would be 1/1 but they do no do holiday graduations, I was wondering if they would move it up one day or back one week....Miss him like crazy but so proud. Glad to meet you

PIR will be on 12/31. Goes to show that info from Recruiters can't always be trusted.

Thanks so much, I look forward to his letter we live in Texas hopefully it'll come today or Monday.

The PIR 12/31/2015 discussion group has been formed. Click HERE.

My sons recruiter said it would be 2 weeks earlier than normal.  That didn't sound right to me.  Glad I knew to wait for the letter.

My son is Ship 14 Div 48.

So cool!  Have you gotten your phone call yet?

My son called today!!! He is Ship 14 Division 048. He has been gone almost 3 weeks, so I take this as a sign that his group is doing great!!! I was not expecting to hear from him until Thanksgiving. I miss him so much, but I know that in life, I'd taken him as far as I could. The Navy was his choice, and I find comfort in knowing he his on his way to living out his dreams.
I got a call too! It was a bad connection and it was less than a minute. My son said he got upgraded, do you know what that means? I hope you got a better phone call!
I'm not sure what that means but it sounds like good news!!! My call lasted about 1 minute as well but it was the best minute of my life!!!

If you post this information in your SR PIR discussion group, you will have a better chance of getting an answer to your questions. click HERE  Glad you got a call!
