For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Just hoping to hear from mom's who will have to say goodbye to their sons/daughters on October 26th.

Same with me ..my daughter went to Meps on 25th and flew out on 26th...I did not get "the call' for some reason so I was a basket case but I did recieve a short note from her on the Info the Navy sent back to me..Wish I could have seen her all the way to the airport but we live in Florida and she flew out of Alabama...counting the days until graduation!!!

My son left on October 26 from Phoenix. His call home to us was bad, maybe because of the weather. We have gotten his "box" and his grad date is December 17.

Any idea on when PIR will be? I thought it would be 12/17 but someone said the first week, "P" week doesn't count. So will they hold PIR on 12/24?

I am dying to find out myself... I just keep hearing we've got to wait because not all the kids that got there this week may have the same PIR date. We won't know till we recieve our letter. I called my son's recruiter and he said he'd know by Friday and pass on the info. He will also have the address. You may want to give your recruiter a call.

Hi barbz415! My son will be in the Nuke program too! He's going to A-School in Charleston, South Carolina! OMG, I can't believe your son is going into that field too!
I asked Tyler's recruiter that question on Monday. (I had to go in and meet him! LOL) He said they do not graduate on Christmas Eve and generally they back it up a week. Boot camp is 8 weeks and when it falls in the holiday the military has a mandatory two weeks off, so it is backed up a week. He smiled and told Tyler "so you will probably graduate a week early".
I also asked if he got to come home between bootcamp and school and I was told that if home is by way of school then they are allowed to come home usually (Others that are not in that route usually had to pay the cost difference to fly home) and just told when to report to school.
Tyler's call from bootcamp when he arrived came at 9:55 (our time) and he had been going since 4 a.m. and sounded very tired too. I am so glad I went up to MEPS with him because it gave me two more full days with him and I cherish every minute of it. I got to take lots of pics of him (and the others) swearing in. We had dinner together Monday night, lunch together on Tuesday and had lots of time to chat while we waited for his flight (that was bumped a few times due to the weather). I even have pics of his plane taking off. It was the first time he flew! What a great experience for them all! My prayers are with you all. Tell your son to watch out for Tyler from Kentucky! Hopefully they will all be a great support to one another while they are there....just as we can be to one another here!
