Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

mycoz, my son left on the 16th as well from NY to Chicago. I think he arrived sometime after 9pm and did not get my call until almost 1am. How did you find out your ship and div so fast?

I called his recruiter and he was able to look it up for me. The recruiter also said that I could call him next week and he could most likely get me his graduation date as well.

Wow, that is fast. My sons recruiter was not that informative on things. I am going to try. I hope it works. Is this considered the address that you can now right to?

It sure is. This is what the address will look like:
SR (stands for Seaman Recruit) Last name, First name
Ship # Division #
3405 Sailor Drive
Great Lakes, IL 60088
Be persistent with the recruiter - they should be able to look it up for you.

My son left on the 16th as well from NC and I was told that the recruiter would have the address for me tomorrow, maybe even this evening. I am anxious to send him some mail and let him know I am thinking of him. This site and my coworkers who have AF/Army children are helping me, not to mention my wonderful husband.

mycoz, I got the address this morning. Ship 7 Div 051. OMG. that is so close. Do you think they were with each other on the 16th? My husband just called to tell me the box is waiting on the kitchen table for when I get home from work...

Funny. I found this this morning but didn't have time to post on your blog and also this has Div 050 and didn't know if your 051 and 050 would be close by. This link also has lots of general useful info I found interesting.

Hi Cat - Wow they are right next door I bet! I'm not sure how I feel about "the box". It kind of gives me an eerie feeling although I am anxious to receive it. Let me know how it goes I'll be thinking of you.

So i opened the box and I got this overwhelming feeling of comfort which lasted about five seconds. It was very emotional but I am glad that I am getting letters out to him and hope he had done the same. I look forward to speaking with all of you and it does give me comfort in knowing that we are all going through this at the same time.
