Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Hi Debbie, No problem! I think we all went through what all of you new moms to this site is going through!
PIR (Pass in Review) Graduation! If you count nine Fridays from when your son reached GL (Great Lakes) that will probably be his graduation date? But with all the holidays coming up? Just wait for the official letter that should be coming to you in about 7 - 10 days? My letter came in 6 and that is counting Sat. & Sun. That letter will give you a lot of info!
Please also join the Boot camp for moms group! it also have a lot of info. But I do have to warn you, that laying low on here is the best thing to do as the veteran moms will let you all know!
Hope you get your letter soon! Will keep your SR and all the others in our prayers!

Good for you, rattling of your nerves is the best way to deal with this life. I say in Chicago too but my husband reassures me that they are not "in" Chicago and are fine. While I have been a Navy Wife for 23 years, the Navy Mom thing is a new chapter that I must learn! Best of luck to you and your son.

I'm new here too, and i'm glad to be able to read all comments because i need it. I'm thankful for all you Navy moms. GOOD LUCK TO YOUR SONS AND DAUGHTERS. My son just left on Veterans Day November 11, 2013, so i'm fresh with pain and emptiness. I miss him dearly.

I myself sent my son to boot-camp on Tuesday of last week. We got a quick phone call at midnight that he arrived safely and that we would be receiving a box of his personal items in 2weeks. My question is how long does it take before I get more info. on how to keep in contact with him.
I feel you and will keep you and yours in prayer.
