Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

She must be in the military to join the NFCU, deppers are not in the military. So the answer is no, she can't join it.

You can be a Depper and join NFCU. Here is the rules:

Eligibility Checklist
Navy Federal's field of membership is determined by the National Credit Union Administration.
If you fall under any of these categories, you're eligible to join:All Department of Defense (DoD) uniformed personnel—Army, Marine Corps, Navy and
Air Force retirees and annuitantsAll Department of Defense Reservists—Army, Marine Corps, Navy and Air Force retirees
and annuitantsAll Army and Air National Guard Personnel—civilian employees, retirees and annuitants
All Delayed Enlistment Program (DEP) Personnel

I understand what the rules say and even showed them to the NFCU at the GL base, they said no deppers. Reason is due to them either not joining or not makingit through bootcamp. So they said they don't allow Deppers.

Angie - Are you sure? If so, I'm just gonna hammer on these guys. It's part of their bylaws, they just can't change them at different places. It has to be voted on by the members.
I know the deppers on my website have joined in the past. There hasn't been much talk lately though....

We had our son all signed up for a checking and savings account, made sure he had his routing information and such and he still had to sign up for another account during bootcamp, I would just have her wait
