It is about a mile away from the gate.
It is NOT close enough to walk, especially this time of year in Great Lakes weather- I loved staying at the Navy Lodge!  It was clean and close to RTC-the front desk can call and arrange a ride for you if you did not rent a car or drive- there is a charge but it is not far---- so it shouldn't cost too much.  Hope this helps
thank you
Did you save a lot of money staying at the Navy Lodge? I'm considering staying there, but I don't know much about it. The biggest thing I'm trying to avoid is tons of traffic. I guessing that staying on base will help me do that?
i,m staying at the navy lodge  rate is 65 dollars ...  for reservation  they will take your nane and  and the person in bootcamp.. credit card.. $65 dollars a night   no tax .. i have stayed at other navy lodge   they are clean .. and very well run  its worth the money   .. hope it helps..

is there anyone from 02 div928?

I have a question about the Navy Lodge. I read on their website that only family members or official guests can stay there. My boyfriend is currently in boot camp, but he did put my name on the list to attend PIR. Would I be able to stay at the Navy Lodge since I'm not legally "family?"
you can stay there just when you call give them your boyfriends info
Is this the Navy lodge located on Meridian road. On the website its navy lodge? They show rates  for different things but not family rate.
I have made reservations for the Navy Lodge.  My cousin stayed there when her daughter graduated. She said it was very convenient and was nice,,,, I just need a place to sleep lol  Tina
There is information in another forum that you should take a towel for your new sailor to sit on and a lint brush, because they have to keep the uniform spotless.. also suggested taking a civilian change of close for them when they are in the hotel with you.. They have to be in Navy dress when in public, swimming, etc.. They have to keep their right arm free to salute when out in public.  Nothing was said about thier shoes.. except in the hotel only...also they can use their cell phone ipod etc.. but not sure if they can keep them or if your have to mail them when they are in A school... My SR is ship 09 div 192.. his big day is 6/3/11,, can't wait
I just spoke to  RTC .. they said  SR will not be able to wear civilian clothes for at least 3 weeks  while in A school...you can bring them  ipod.. lap top... cell phone ...
