Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Navy Mom who wants to help.
My son has been in the Navy for 10 years, he joined at age 20. He is a DCfirfighter, and loves it. He is on deployment, we won't see him til next year. I don't know what took me so long to join Navy moms, but I did, and I would like to help in any way I can. If one of you coud send me to the right site that would be helpful. Thanks, I pray for all our families on a daily basis. Please help me get to the right person.

If you can browse through all the forum discussions and blogs on a daily basis and post responses whenever the mood strikes you - that would be the most helpful to this site. Just by being here and commenting, providing support, using your experience as a "old" Navy mom. This site use to be more active. Many have stay connected more as a social network on Facebook, others have moved on to other things in life. Some have gone back to work. When the sailor is waiting for Boot Camp or going through Boot Camp is the time the site is the most useful to the families. Typically, the same questions get asked over and over again. However, those of use who have been around might have heard the question before but it's the first time for the one asking the question, so it's important that we treat each one equal attention. Having more people to respond to those questions, the easier it is for everyone.
In the New Moms Stop Here, we keep reference pages for various things - go take a look. For example, a copy of the form letter, or the link to the RTC, or Navy acronyms. The first reference page contains a Survival Guide with videos, powerpoint presentation, tips for navigating this site. Feel free to look through that and make recommendations to improve it. If you click Forum, the "How To Do Stuff on N4M" category, you'll find a number of discussions which contain compilation of groups on N4M - such as groups associated with PIR, or ships or geographical area.
