My son is home for a 10 day leave & he will need his white uniform clean for when he leaves on Sunday. He asked his recruiter where he should get it dry cleaned & he advised him not to take it to a local dry cleaner. He said they don't know how to handle the "sewn in" creases & will mess it up. So my son doesn't want to be responsible for ruining it himself, so he wants me to be the one to ruin it for him! LOL. Has anybody ever washed one of these uniforms? Any advice is appreciated!
I washed mine all the time, just put it in the wash with nothing else. DO NOT use bleach. Just use the regular soap you use, dry on low pull out before fully dry, hang up to finish drying, and then iron on low with a clean iron.
Before you wash it check for any marks on it, so you don't set in stains. If there are marks, use what ever stain remover you use to get out stains on them and before you put in the dryer check to see if they where removed.
I washed my hubby's whites all the time they are easy. Wash them like you would anything else and touch them up with the iron. The dress blues have to be dry cleaned.
Thank you both for your help!
